a friend is one that knows you as you are,
understands where you have been,
accepts what you have become, and still,
gently allows you to grow.
there's something about the look in your eyes,
something i noticed when the light was just right.
it reminded me twice that i was alive
and it reminded me that you're so worth the fight.
people who belong together, stay together
despite major setbacks and disagreements.
they may deal in fault and blame temporarily,
but ultimately they work things out.
love conquers all; in sickness and in health.
